Roberto adores his wife but sees that lately every teasing remark seems to upset Sandi. When one stolen moment in the shower together has Roberto pausing to answer his cell phone, Sandi realizes their marriage is in trouble. Chatting with her mother the next day, she agrees that she's allowed herself to get into a rut and that she needs a makeover and a date with her husband. Just as Sandi receives a text message from Roberto saying he has a late meeting and can't meet her at the club, she is approached by a handsome latino man. Alejandro is charming and eager to get to know her, even if just to chat. This innocent meeting sets off a pattern of Saturday night rendezvous that brings Sandi back to life as a woman.
Ms Jacks cleverly offers up the spoiler in her prologue of a scene of lovemaking six months later between Roberto and Sandi, and they give thanks for all that the games with Alejandro had taught them. Without the prologue, it would be easy to read this story as one of a neglected wife finding spice in her life with another man. Knowing that Alejandro is actually Roberto from that peek into the future, it takes away any ick factor over an extra-marital affair. The date nights were fun and enlightening for both Sandi and Roberto. This sexy read was very enjoyable.

Usually I avoid stories of "affairs" but this one brilliantly redeems itself at the end while realistically depicting the feelings of a housewife overwhelmed by her mundane life. Both husband and wife learn to communicate their desires and hurt feelings better resulting in a stronger bond while playing a game to restore the spark in their marriage.
